Kosack Places 9th at Holy Cross Decathlon

WORCESTER, MASS.--(4/19/12)--Sophomore Clay Kosack placed ninth at the Holy Cross Decathlon with athletes from Divisions I, II and III.

Kosack's total score of 5287 is a college best mark and puts him among the top Decathletes in Division III New England.

He started out the day running 19.50 in the 110 Hurdles then threw the discus 31.31 meters. Kosack followed up that performance with a 3.55 meter leap in the pole vault. In the 9th event of competition, Clay had a personal record in the javelin throwing 43.48 meters. In his final event, Kosack ran 4:56.78 in the 1500 meters.

Yesterday during day one of the competition, he posted his college best time of 11.80 in the 100 meters and followed it up jumping 18' 4.25" in the long jump. In the shot put, Kosack's best throw was 35' 4.5". He closed out the day with the high jump jumping 5' 2.5" and running the 400 meters in 53.12.
