Siperek, Scalesse Qualify for Finals

CLAREMONT, Ca.--(5/25/12)--Senior Trevor Siperek is closing out his career on a high note as he earned a spot in the finals of the 3,000 steeplechase by winning his heat on Friday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Later in the day, sophomore All-American Adam Scalesse set the school record and beat the top-seeded runner in the championship by posting a time of 14.26, the second fastest time in the 110 meter hurdle preliminaries.

Siperek posted a heat-best time of 9:13.05 which is the third best time overall at the Championships.

Both Siperek and Scalesse will compete in the finals on Saturday. The top nine from each event make the finals, with the top eight earning All-America honors.
