Bears Ranked 19th in Northeast After Fall Season

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Coast Guard has been recognized for its strong performance during the Fall season with a #19 ranking by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) in the extremely competitive NCAA Division III Northeast Region.

In addition to some great play during Invitational tournaments, the Bears posted dual-match wins against Holy Cross (NCAA-Division I) and Nichols College. The only loss of the fall was a tight 5-4 defeat to nationally ranked Trinity College (#29).

As the governing body of college tennis, the ITA administers the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings that are designed to track the top men's and women's teams, along with singles and doubles players in NCAA Divisions I, II, III, NAIA, Junior Colleges and California Junior Colleges.

The Bears will return to action on February 25th when they travel to Assumption College (NCAA-Division II) to kick off the spring season.
