Bears Cruise to Senior Day Win

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Coast Guard celebrated Senior Day with a 9-0 win over Wheaton in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) win.

Coast Guard improves to 7-3 overall and 1-0 in the NEWMAC while Wheaton drops to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference.  

The Bears won four of the singles matches in straight sets as Mark Guentert (#1) won 6-1, 6-2, Thomas Hackett (#2) was a 6-4, 7-5 winner, Weston Fortna (#4) was a 6-1, 7-5 winner while Michael Melampy (#5) posted a 6-1, 6-1 win in singles action for the Bears.

Coast Guard is back in action tomorrow at noon when the Bears host NYU.
