WORCESTER, Mass.-- Men's swimming and diving swept WPI and Division II Southern Connecticut State University in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon at WPI.
Coast Guard defeated WPI, 186-114 and had a score of 220-78 over Southern Connecticut State.
Senior Taylor Rowe finished the 1000 Free in first place with a time of 9:59.88, followed by freshman Michael Blake in second place at 10:04.74. Freshman Devin McClure had a first place finish in the 200 Free at 1:44.60 and another first place finish in the 200 Back with a time of 1:56.31. Junior Joe Rodriguez has two top finishes today in the 50 Free with a 21.10 time and the 100 Free with 47.49.
Sophomore Eric Fuhs completed the 200 Breast, first at 2:06.90. Rowe had another top performance in the 500 Free with a time of 4:47.94. Fuhs had a top time in the 200 Medley, touching the wall at 1:58.01. The relay team of John Pompay, Daniel Jenkins, Tyler Dominick, and Rodriguez, had a first place finish in the 200 Free at 1:25.75.
In diving action, Marshall Seguin had two, second place finishes in the 1 Meter and 3 Meter. He recorded a score of 245.45 for the 1M and a 221.50 score in the 3 Meter.
Coast Guard will return to the pool on Saturday, December 1 for the Connecticut Cup at Wesleyan at 10:00 AM.
