STORRS, Conn. – The Bears sent a group of eight swimmers that will not compete at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship to the Husky Invitational to close out the season.
Junior Nick Buch, sophomores Isaiah Green, Robert Jackson, Terry Jung and Josh Turner along with freshmen Jacob Haw, Evan Boisse and Michael Johnson competed for the Bears.
All of the cadet-athletes earned top ten finishes in the four team meet which featured Division I UConn and Boston College as well as Division II Southern Connecticut.
Buch was fourth in both the 50 backstroke (25.45) and the 100 backstroke (54.87) while Green placed fourth in the 50 breaststroke (27.39) and tenth in the 50 freestyle (22.16)
Turner placed sixth in the 500 freestyle (4:56.71) and the 100 backstroke (56.54) and Jung was sixth in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.50), seventh in the 50 breaststroke (28.90) and ninth in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.44).
Johnson was seventh in both the 50 backstroke (27.16) and the 100 backstroke (58.65) and he placed ninth in the 50 butterfly (25.21).
Haw was eighth in the 200 butterfly (2:06.17), Jackson took eighth in the 100 freestyle (48.56) and the 200 freestyle (1:46.94) and Boisse took tenth in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.68).
