Rowe Has One Event Left at NCAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Freshman Taylor Rowe competed in his second event at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday and has yet to compete in his best event, the 1,650 freestyle.

Rowe placed 29th in the 500 freestyle on Wednesday with a time of 4:37.24 and today he placed 27th in the 400 IM with a time of 4:14.08

He qualified in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 15:48.11, the 13th best mark in Division III and will swim that event on Saturday morning at 10:00.

A swimmer is allowed to compete in three events once they qualify in one.

Rowe placed second at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships in both the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:33.49 and the 1,650 freestyle touching the wall in 15:48.11 to earn All-conference honors in both events.

He also broke the school record in the 1,000 freestyle over the first 1,000 yards of the 1,650 with a mark of 9:30.12 breaking the record of All-American Bobby Brown.
