Rowe to Compete at NCAA Swimming Championships This Week

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Freshman Taylor Rowe is set to compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Greensboro, N.C. beginning on Wednesday.

Rowe qualified in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 15:48.11, the 13th best mark in Division III. He will also compete in the 500 freestyle and the 400 I.M. this week.

He will swim Wednesday morning at 10:00 in the 500 freestyle preliminaries. He had the 24th fastest time in the nation with a 4:33.39.

On Thursday at 10:00 he will swim in the 400 IM. Rowe's time of 4:08.59 is the 26th best time in the country.

He will close out the NCAA Championships with his best event on Saturday morning at 10:00 when he swims the 1,650 freestyle.

Rowe placed second at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships in both the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:33.49 and the 1,650 freestyle touching the wall in 15:48.11 to earn All-conference honors in both events.

He also broke the school record in the 1,000 freestyle over the first 1,000 yards of the 1,650 with a mark of 9:30.12 breaking the record of All-American Bobby Brown.
