INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-Junior Christian Brindamour competed in the preliminary round of the 100 meter backstroke this morning at the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championships, hosted by IUPUI. The 50 meter freestyle National Champion finished 36th in a highly competitive field and will not advance to the finals round tonight.
Two days after claiming the program's first national championship by a male swimmer since 1996, Brindamour opted to enter the event where he was not ranked but had a history of competing in the event.
Brindamour will next compete in the 100 freestyle preliminaries scheduled for 10:00 am on Saturday, March 22nd. He is ranked 19th nationally in the event and has a chance to become a two-time All-American selection headed into his senior season next year.
