Men’s Swimming and Diving Fifth After Day One

WORCESTER, Mass.-Sophomore Andy Anderson was the high-finisher on the day for Coast Guard on Day One of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.

Anderson recorded a fourth place finish on the day, earning the Bears 21 points with a score of 435.85 in the 3-meter diving final.

Coast Guard also got a pair of top ten finishes in the 800-yard freestyle relay. In fifth place the team of senior Marco Tinari, freshman Elliot VanDeren and Aaron Overheim, and sophomore Timothy Dion finished in a time of 7:04.67 to earn the Bears 38 points. The other team, consisting of all freshmen – Mike Franco, Alexander Simpson, Zach Weeks, and Londen Thomas finished in 7:11.99 netting Coast Guard an additional 24 points.

In total Coast Guard has 87 points and sits in fifth place (of seven competing teams) through the completion of two events.
