Bears Beat Providence

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/18/11)--Marco Tinari, Derrian Duryea and Jeff Mistrick each won two events leading Coast Guard to a 165-109 win over Providence College.

Tinari won the 1,000 freestyle (10:03.92) and the 500 freestyle (4:52.94), Duryea won the 100 breaststroke (1:01.08) and the 200 breaststroke (2:14.87) while Mistrick won the 1-meter diving with 200.9 points and the 3-meter event with 242 points.

Also for Coast Guard, Alex Dona won the 200 freestyle (1:47.37), Christian Brindamour won the 100 backstroke (55.49), Kevin Smit won the 200 butterfly (1:58.77), Johnson Knox won the 50 freestyle (22.08) and Dan Beshoar won the 100 freestyle (48.18).

The Bears 200 medley relay team of Brindamour, Duryea, Preston Strobel and Knox won with a time of 1:38.86.

Coast Guard improves to 3-1 on the season.
