BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – Robbie Fugett had a goal and an assist leading Coast Guard to a 4-0 win over Massachusetts Maritime in a non-conference game.
The Bears improve to 8-7 overall while the Bucs drop to 2-11-3 on the season.
John DiTommaso would score his second goal of the season with Fugett assisting in the 25th minute as Coast Guard took a 1-0 lead.
Mike Daunt's unassisted goal in the 38th minute gave Coast Guard a 2-0 lead. The Bears would hold an 18-4 advantage in shots in the opening half.
Fugett pushed the lead to 3-0 with an unassisted goal in the 56th minute and Brock Hassett closed the scoring with a goal in the 73rd minute.
Dakota Harich (5-5) picked up the win in goal for the Bears as he made just two saves in 76 minutes before John Vaaler played the final 14 minutes and made one save.
Coast Guard outshot the Bucs 30-9 and held a 10-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Bears are back in action on Saturday when they host MIT in a NEWMAC game at noon.
