NORTON, Mass. – Seniors Patrick Palermo-Re and Quintin Parsons each scored their first goals of the season as Coast Guard picked up its first New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) win with a 2-0 shutout of Wheaton.

Coast Guard improves to 3-5-2 overall and 1-2 in NEWMAC play while Wheaton suffered its first conference loss of the season dropping to 5-6 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

Palermo-Re got the Bears on the board in the 24th minute with an unassisted goal, when he bent a shot over the keeper and just under the cross bar for the 1-0 lead.

Parsons would give the Bears an insurance goal in the 63rd minute on a header with Noah Harper picking up his first assist of the season a great service to the back post.

"After two tough conference losses to start the season we really got a great result today," said Coast Guard head coach Chris Parsons. "The entire team played great and our goals were excellent and a big lift for our guys."

Wheaton had a slight 18-16 edge in shots.

Junior Dakota Harich (2-4-1) made five saves to register his second shutout of the season. He also shutout Merchant Marine on Sept. 8th.

The Bears are back in action on Monday night when they host Newbury in a non-conference game at 7:00.
