THROGGS NECK, N.Y.—Junior Joe Bodzewski scored a pair of goals leading Coast Guard to a 3-0 win over host N.Y. Maritime in a non-conference game.
Coast Guard, 8-1-1 in its last ten games, improves to 11-4-1 overall while Maritime drops to 8-11-1 on the season.
Bodzewski scored the only goal the Bears would need 9:15 into the match with classmate Matt Epperly assisting on the goal.
Coast Guard increased the lead to 2-0 in the 19th minute when Bodzewski again found the back of the net for his team-leading fifth goal of the year.
Senior Greg Kennerley closed the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 67th minute.
The Bears outshot Maritime 18-6.
Senior Will Leffer and junior Carlos Gonzalez, who played the final 16:20, combined on the shutout. Leffler made the Bears only save of the game and picked up his first win of the season and is now 1-2 on the year.
The Bears close out the regular season with the New England Women's and Men's regular season championship on the line at Babson on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Bears and Beavers are both 4-0-1 in conference play.
