BOSTON, Mass. - Sophomores Anthony Wyler and Trey Johnson earned New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Offensive and Defensive player of the week for leading the Bears to two wins including their first road win of the season.
Wyler racked up nine points over two games leading the Bears to victories over Maritime (14-8) and Misericordia (13-5). He scored seven goals and had two assists over the two games including four points in the second quarter alone of the Misericordia game helping Coast Guard overcome an early two goal deficit. He is tied for fourth in the conference in goal (16) and is sixth in points (21).
Johnson went 2-0 on the week leading the Bears to victories over Maritime (14-8) and Misericordia (13-5). Johnson made 22 saves over the two games including a season high 14 saves against Misericordia while also picking up eight ground balls in the same game. Johnson is second in the conference in goals against average (7.37), third in saves (64) and fifth in save percentage (58.2%).
Coast Guard is back in action on Saturday, April 1st when they travel to Cambridge, Massachusetts for their first NEWMAC game of the season. Opening face-off will be 1:00 pm.
