Top Moments from 2017-18: Men's Rowing

During the summer months, we want to take a look back at some of the outstanding accomplishments and special moments from the 2017-18 athletic seasons and revisit those events that each of our 25 teams celebrated this year.

We hope you enjoy looking back at the great accomplishments by our cadet-athletes and teams. We will go in alphabetical order today and we highlight men's rowing. Next up on Monday, will be women's rowing.

The men's novice four of Alexander Mastel, Ben Glashagel, Matthew Pindell, Zachary Gordon, and coxswain Anna Kemball-Cook finished second (out of 16 boats) - losing only to UPenn and beating boats from Army-West Point and Duke. This was their first opportunity to race the four and they made the most of it on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia to close out the Fall season.

The Bears had their best race of the season at the New England Championship in Worcester, Mass. as the Varsity 8 placed 9th overall beating Wesleyan, Colby and Trinity in the petite final.

The Second Varsity 8 had their best race of the year placing 10th beating schools such as URI and UConn. The Third Varsity 8, with six walk-on novices in the boat, pulled off what will be their springboard race into next year placing 9th and having a very solid race for their last race of the season.
