Bears Host Babson in Final Home Game of Season Tonight

BABSON (17-5, 11-1 NEWMAC) AT COAST GUARD (10-12, 4-8)


LAST MEETING: Kevin Alvarez tied his then career-high with 30 points, but the Bears came up just short as they fell to Babson 100-90 in overtime on January 24th.

Ethan Boose had 26 points and 16 rebounds, Micah Baldez scored 16 points while Darius Adams had 12 rebounds and eight points.

Joey Flannery led Babson with 26 points while Isaiah Nelsen added 22 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Nick Comenale added 14 points and seven assists in the win for the Beavers.

LAST GAME: Ian Converse registered his fourth double-double of the season as WPI defeated visiting Coast Guard 69-60 on Saturday.

Micah Baldez paced the Bears with 14 points followed by sophomore Ethan Boose with 13 and Alvarez with 12. Darius Adams narrowly missed a double-double with eight points and nine boards.

Bradley Jacks led all scorers with 17 points and Nick Comenale added 15 and five rebounds as Babson rolled past visiting Clark 80-56 on Saturday.

SCOUTING THE BEARS: Coast Guard is one game out of the fifth and final NEWMAC tournament playoff spot with two games left in the season.

Senior Kevin Alvarez leads the Bears and is third in the NEWMAC with 18.6 points per game while leading the team with 42 three-pointers (42-127).

Sophomores Ethan Boose (14.3) and Micah Baldez (11.9) are also scoring in double figures for the Bears. Boose is shooting a team-high 52.6 percent from the floor, third best in the conference. He leads the Bears with 7.2 rebounds per game, fifth best in the conference.

Coast Guard is averaging 77.3 points per game while allowing 81.8 points per contest.

The Bears are shooting 41.2 percent from the field and 31.6 percent from behind the arc (137-434).

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS: Babson, which has won seven straight, can win the NEWMAC regular season championship with a win tonight.

Junior Joey Flannery leads the NEWMAC with 24.6 points per game while classmate Isaiah Nelsen (16.1) and sophomore Bradley Jacks (12.6) are also scoring in double figures for the Beavers.

Flannery leads the team with 40 three-pointers (40-124), 13 blocks and 33 steals.

Nelsen leads the team with 8.3 rebounds per game while Flannery is second with 6.9 per contest.

Babson is averaging 82.1 points per game while allowing 71.6 per game.

The Beavers are shooting 48.2 percent from the field and 34 percent from 3-point range (128-377).

UP NEXT: The Bears close out the regular season at Springfield on Saturday at 2:00.
