As we approach the holiday season and the New Year, we will take a look back at the Top Ten moments in Coast Guard Academy intercollegiate Athletics during the 2018 year.
We have compiled a list and will unveil one every other day, culminating with the announcement of the top moment on New Year's Eve.

TOP MOMENT #7 – FOOTBALL RECORDS MOST WINS SINCE 2007 AND WINS SECRETARIES' CUP
The Bears finished 7-3 overall and 5-2 in the NEWMAC including a 26-12 win over Merchant Marine to win the Secretaries' Cup in the final game of the season. Coast Guard finished tied for second place in the conference.
The seven wins for the Bears were the most since the team finished 8-2 and won the NEFC Bogan Division in 2007. It was Coast Guard's first win at Merchant Marine since 1996 and the first road win in the series for head coach Bill George.
The Bears placed seven players on the All-conference team. Senior offensive lineman Hudson Dunaway, classmate punter Chip Crowley and sophomore wide receiver Justin Moffatt were all named to the first team. Senior linebacker Jake Behne, senior kicker Cole Austin, junior defensive back Patrick Crowley and junior quarterback Ryan Jones all earned second team accolades.
Crowley led the NEWMAC and was 8th nationally averaging 40.6 yards per punt. He had eight inside the 20 with a long of 69 yards.
Moffatt set the single-season Coast Guard record with 71 receptions and led the NEWMAC in receptions, yards (853) and was tied for the team lead with three touchdowns receptions. He had four games with 100 or more yards this season.
Behne led the NEWMAC with 103 tackles and 56 solo tackles from his linebacker spot. He also had seven pass breakups, three tackles for loss a forced fumble and an interception.
Austin tied the Coast Guard single-season record and was tied for the NEWMAC lead with 12 field goals making 12 of 17 this season while converting 17 of 21 extra points.
