NEW LONDON, Conn.-As the fall semester winds down and our Cadet-Athletes are wrapped up in exams the Athletic Department will take a look at the Top Moments from the Coast Guard fall sports season. The Department has compiled a top-ten list and will unveil one a day for ten business days starting with number ten and culminating with the announcement of the top moment on Tuesday, December 24th.
Today we'll examine at the #6 moment in our Top Moments series as we look at the ribbon cutting for the Otto Graham Hall of Athletic Excellence in Billard Hall. The newly renovated athletics offices in Billard Hall will become a part of the larger Otto Graham Hall of Excellence.
The Hall of Excellence was paid for through a combination of appropriated funds and donations from the 1963 team and Otto Graham Athletic Legacy Fund, managed through the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Alumni Association. The Otto Graham Hall of Athletic Excellence will showcase the history of Coast Guard's athletic programs, honor its Hall of Fame inductees and recognize the pioneers of men's and women's sports at the Academy.
Stay tuned as tomorrow's installment of the Top Moment series will reveal the #5 moment from the fall season.
