Gerken Named NEWMAC Player of the Week

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(4/2/12)--Coast Guard junior Eric Gerken has been named the NEWMAC Player of the Week.

Gerken had a big week as going 7-for-10 with four doubles, a triple and five runs scored playing in three of the Bears five games this week.

He had an eye-popping 1.300 slugging percentage, .750 on base percentage and also drove in a run and drew a pair of walks. He was 5 for 6 in as the Bears swept MIT on Sunday.

Coast Guard is 10-12 overall and 4-5 in conference play.
