Women's Outdoor Track - Arons Leads Bears to 2nd Place Finish
JoEllen Arons won the 1,500 meters and placed second in the 800 meters and 4x400 relay.
WORCESTER, MASS.--(4/11/08)--JoEllen Arons won the 1,500 meters, placed second in the 800 meters and was part of the second place 4x400 meter relay team as Coast Guard placed second at a tri-meet with Springfield and host WPI.
Arons won the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:53.90, placed second in the 800 meters (2:24.13) and teamed with Dana Tomc, Tara Sutcliffe and Emily Zalewski to place second in the 4x400 relay (4:14.86).
Charlotte Delorey won the 3,000 meter steeplechase (12:55.99) while Victoria Stevens won the shot put (34-10.25) and placed second in the hammer (114-07).
Alaina Kiskaddon placed second in the 400 meter hurdles (1:09.16), Zalewski was second in the 400 meters (1:01.54) while Tomc placed third in the 400 meters (1:01.67).
Springfield won the meet with 217 points while Coast Guard finished second with 97 points. WPI had 54 points.
