Chris Pappe won at No. 2 singles and teamed with Ryan Beck to win No. 1 doubles.
KINGS POINT, N.Y.--(4/6/08)--Coast Guard beat rival Merchant Marine 8-1 and also clinched the Superintendent's Trophy awarded annually to the Academy which wins the most athletic contests between the two schools.

Coast Guard, which has never lost the Superintendent's Trophy, has won seven of the 12 athletic contests (7-5 lead) this season with just softball remaining.

Ryan Beck (No. 1 singles), Chris Pappe (No. 2 singles), James Vuckovic (No. 3 singles), Brett Sillman (No. 5 singles) and Vince Falco (No. 6 singles) all won their singles matches.

Coast Guard swept the doubles play as Beck and Pappe (No. 1 doubles), Tim Ozimek and Falco (No. 2 doubles) and Vuckovic and Sillman (No. 3 doubles) all picked up victories.
