Kevin Thomas struck out a career-high eight to pick up his second win of the season.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(3/30/08)--Steve Lewis scored the game winning run on a dropped pop up as Coast Guard scored twice in the bottom of the fifth inning to snap a seven-game losing streak and beat Albertus Magnus 4-3 in a game called in the fifth inning due to rain.

Bill Birch led off the bottom of the fifth with a single, he stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a fielders choice by Lewis to tie the game. Ken Franklin’s single put Lewis on third before Brian Lisko’s pop up was dropped to end the game which was played in constant rain from the first pitch.

Franklin gave Coast Guard (5-11) a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first before Albertus tied the game in the second on an RBI double by Kyle Calechman.

The Falcons (1-11) took the lead on a two-run home run by J.R. Bagley in the third.

Coast Guard got one run back in the home half of the third as Lewis, who walked later scored on a wild pitch.

Kevin Thomas (2-2) went the distance for Coast Guard and allowed four hits and three earned runs while striking out a career-high eight batters.

James Maule took the loss for Albertus, he worked 4 2/3 innings and allowed four hits and three earned runs while walking four and striking out two.

Bagley was 2 for 2 to lead Albertus Magnus while Franklin led the Bears with two hits.
