JoEllen Arons, who sat out the indoor season, won the 1,500 meters in her return to the track.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(3/22/08)--Victoria Stevens won both the shot put (34-0.75) and the hammer (122-11) leading Coast Guard to a second place finish at its season opening Invitational.

Conn. College won the meet with 210.66 points while the Bears had 144.33.

Also winning for Coast Guard were Emily Zalewski in the 400 meters (1:02.05), Tessa Knott in the 800 meters (2:29.64), JoEllen Arons in the 1,500 meters (4:56.81 and Anne Jefferson in the discus (112-07)

The 4x400 relay team of Dana Tomc, Arons, Tara Sutcliffe and Zalewski (4:18.56) also won for the Bears.
