Softball - Bears Drop Two at Rebel Games
Freshman Amanda Frederick had two hits and four RBI's in the loss to Oneonta State.
KISSIMMEE, FLA.--(3/12/08)--Oneonta State broke a 7-7 tie with five runs in the third inning and held off Coast Guard 13-9 at the Rebel Games. The Bears were beaten 7-0 in the first game of the day by Marian (Ind.).
Coast Guard (0-6) managed just three singles in the opener. Junior Annette Boston, freshman Amanda Frederick and senior Emily Paxson had the hits in that loss to Marian.
Sophomore Crystal Lee Coonan went the distance and took the loss for Coast Guard.
In game two, Coast Guard jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but Oneonta State scored seven in the first and then five in the third and took advantage of 12 walks in the game, enroute to the win.
Frederick led the way in game two for the Bears as she was 2 for 2 with two doubles and four RBI while sophomore Leanna Minton had three hits and two stolen bases.
Junior Colleen Denny also had two hits including a double as Coast Guard had 12 hits in the second game.
Junior Katie Murray went the distance and took the loss for Coast Guard, allowing 12 hits and taking the loss.
