Softball - Bears Drop Pair at Rebel Games

KISSIMMEE, FLA.--(3/11/08)--Baldwin-Wallace scored seven runs in the fourth to erase a 9-5 deficit and beat Coast Guard 16-10 at the Rebel Games. Coast Guard lost its first game of the day 11-1 to Cortland State.
The Bears (0-4) managed just three hits vs. Cortland State, singles by Leanna Minton, Jeannie Crump and Carin Sweeney, with Minton accounting for the RBI on a fielders choice.
Coast Guard led 9-5 going to the bottom of the fourth against Baldwin Wallace before the Yellow Jackets scored seven times in the fourth for a 12-9 lead.
Erin Cullen led the Bears in game two with two hits and three RBI’s while Sweeney had two hits and two RBI’s, Amanda Frederick had two hits including a double and Colleen Denny drove in a pair of runs in the loss.
Crystal Lee Coonan started and took the loss in both games going 3 1/3 innings in each game for the Bears. Katie Murray came on in relief and finished both games.
