Krysta Rhode was one of two Bears honored by the NEISA.
CHARLESTON, S.C.--(3/3/08)--The Coast Guard Academy duo of Krysta Rhode ’11 and Kirsten Hass ’10 earned top New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) Women’s honors this week for their fourth place A-division performance at the Charleston Women’s Intersectional Regatta this weekend.

In early season action and without much practice, underclassmen Rhode and Hass were able to put up consistent finishes against many southern teams who have been practicing for over a month to win a tiebreak with Yale’s Kate Hagemonn ’09 and Liz Brim ’11. Rhode, the NEISA women’s singlehanded champion in the fall, has shown her improvement in the double handed discipline with the strong showing against tough competition in Charleston.

The CGA Bears finished 9th overall, with other NEISA representatives Yale (4th), Boston College (6th), MIT (7th), and Connecticut College (8th) in close competition.
