Wrestling - Boyle, Armstrong Earn All-NE Honors
Colin Boyle placed third at 165 pounds to earn All-New England honors.
GORHAM, MAINE--(2/24/08)--Senior Colin Boyle and sophomore Andrew Armstrong each earned All-New England honors as the Bears placed 10th of 15 teams at the Division III New England Wrestling Championships hosted by Southern Maine.
Boyle won his first two matches at 165 pounds before losing to Springfield's Jake Tyler 5-3 to get sent to the consolation bracket. Boyle then won two more matches to earn a rematch with Tyler in the consolation final, where he lost 7-2 to place third.
Armstrong also won his first two matches at 133 pounds before losing to eventual champion, Brian Zane of Norwich and runnerup Corey Paulish of Williams, to place sixth.
Coast Guard finished with 36.5 points while Rhode Island College won the championship with 121 points. The Bears improved on their 12th placed finish in 2007.
