NEW LONDON, CONN.--(2/18/08)--Senior Natalie Moyer had 24 points, 10 rebounds and she tied a career-high with eight steals to become the Bears all-time leader in that category as host Coast Guard beat Mitchell 61-42 in a non-conference game between the two New London schools.

Moyer now has 212 career steals breaking the school record of 210 held by Jen Cook (‘98).

Coast Guard (19-4) scored the first 10 points of the game on a pair of 3-pointers by Moyer and a pair of baskets by sophomore Melissa Martinelli. The Bears led 33-21 at halftime despite hitting just three of 21 from 3-point range in the first 20 minutes.

Mitchell (5-18) cut the Coast Guard lead to 35-27 with 18:12 left before the Bears used an 11-0 run, taking a 46-27 lead with 13:30 left. Moyer accounted for six of the 11 points on three baskets.

Martinelli finished with 17 points and eight rebounds while senior Corinne McCormack had eight points, eight rebounds and a game-high six assists.

Sophomore Jennifer Iglesias led the Pequots with 18 points while junior Julie Graham had eight points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting to go with a game-high 12 rebounds.

Coast Guard shot 31.8 percent from the floor (21-66) and 17.6 percent from 3-point range (6-34) while Mitchell host 31.5 percent from the field (17-54) and 17.4 percent from 3-point range (4-23).

The Bears outrebounded Mitchell 53-33.
