Men's Indoor Track - Bears Vault to Third Straight Win
Senior Nate Rhodes won the pole vault with mark of 14 feet, 8.75 inches.
MEDFORD, MASS.--(2/2/08)--The Bears dominated the pole vault event taking four of the top five spots as Coast Guard easily won the Tufts Indoor Invitational #2, its third straight win to open the season.
Coast Guard finished with 143 points while Trinity was distant second with 88 points.
Senior Nate Rhodes won the pole vault with a mark of 14 feet, 8.75 inches. Freshman Jordan Kellham (13-9) and junior Michael Comerford (12-9) finished second and third respectively while sophomore James Provost (11-9.25) placed fifth.
Freshman Carl Luxhoj won the long jump (21 feet, 11 inches) and was second in the triple jump (44-3.25) while senior Chris Hunt won the weight throw (53-8.5)
The 4x200 relay team of Paul Sprenger, Matt Tolliver, Kyle Coleman, and Mike Laurence set a school record (1:35.11) and finished third.
Also for the Bears, junior Thomas Adams was second in the 400 meters (51.60) and junior Mike Haas placed second in the mile (4:19.77).
