Women's Basketball - Moyer Ties Career Three-Point Record in Win

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/12/08)--Senior Natalie Moyer led all scorers with 20 points and tied the Coast Guard Academy career record for three-pointers leading the Bears to a 59-43 win over Smith in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.
Moyer made four three pointers tying the Academy’s career record of 207 held by Meredith Engelke (‘98).
Coast Guard (9-2, 2-0), which is off to the best start in school history, used an 8-0 run to end the first half to take 33-21 halftime lead.
The Bears cruised in the second half as they led by as many as 21 at 59-38 with 3:38 left.
Senior DeCarol Davis had a season-high 15 points, as she connected on five three-pointers while senior Corinne McCormack (10 points, 12 rebounds) and sophomore Melissa Martinelli (10 points, 10 rebounds) each had double-doubles for the Bears.
Sophomore Berit Schelde led Smith with 16 points while classmate Lisa Marie Vuono had a game-high 17 rebounds.
