MIDDLETOWN, CONN.--(12/4/07)--Sophomore Melissa Martinelli had 18 of her season-high 22 points in the second half and Coast Guard used a 14-0 run in the first half to snap a five-year losing streak against Wesleyan, beating the Cardinals 70-56 in a non-conference game.

Martinelli was a perfect six-for-six from the floor while knocking down six-of-seven from the foul line in the second half.

Senior Natalie Moyer had 21 points while classmate Corinne McCormack had a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for the Bears (5-1).

Wesleyan (4-2) led 16-11 with 7:52 left in the first half before the Bears used a 14-0 run capped by a three-pointer by Moyer giving Coast Guard a 25-16 lead with 1:40 left in the first half. Moyer had seven of the 14 points in the run.

Coast Guard used a 7-0 run in the second half to open up a 39-26 lead with 15:27 left in the game and the Bears cruised to victory.

Moyer was four-for-five from three-point range while DeCarol Davis added 10 points and a game-high five assists for the Bears.
