Women's Basketball - Bears Suffer First Loss of Season Print E-mail
HARTFORD, CONN.--(12/1/07)--Sophomore forward Christine Card recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds and sophomore guard Tess Donie scored a game-high 14 points to go along with five rebounds as Trinity handed Coast Guard its first loss of the season as the Bantams outscored the Bears 38-16 in the second half enroute to a 56-42 victory.

Coast Guard built an eight-point halftime lead, 26-18 before Trinity used a 20-6 spurt to start the second half taking 38-32 lead.

Following a basket by Coast Guard's Melissa Martinelli to make the score 38-34, the Bantams used an 11-3 run to put the game away taking a 49-37 lead.

Senior Natalie Moyer had eight first half points while senior Corinne McCormack and freshman Jennifer Tamminen each had seven at the midway point as the Bears built the eight point lead.

Trinity held the Bears to just 4-28 (14.3%) shooting in the second half. Moyer finished the game with a team-high 13 points and Tamminen finished with 11 points and six rebounds for the Bears, who drop to 4-1 while Trinity improves to 4-1.
