BRISTOL, R.I.--(11/27/07)--Coast Guard held Roger Williams to one field goal in the final 7:11 of the game outscoring the Hawks 14-4 in that span and Al Sowers was six-for-six from the foul line in the final 51 seconds leading the Bears to a 63-54 win in a non-conference game.
Roger Williams took a 50-49 lead on a three-pointer by Dan Gumb with 7:11 left, but back-to-back baskets by Craig Johnson and a shot by Sowers gave the Bears a 55-50 lead with 3:31 left.
Craig Johnson led the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Bears, who improved to 5-0, their best start since beginning the season 8-0 in the 1992-'93 season.
Sowers finished with 18 points while Grant Johnson added 12 points on four-of-six shooting from three-point range.
