NEW LONDON, CONN.—-(11/24/07)--Junior Craig Johnson had 20 of his team-high 24 points in the first half and senior Jeff Prebeck had 16 points and 12 rebounds leading Coast Guard to an 83-61 win over City Tech.

City Tech (0-4) jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first three minutes before Coast Guard used a 19-3 run to take control, taking a 20-9 lead midway thru the first half.

The Yellow Jackets closed to within 22-16 with 8:26 left before the Bears closed out the half on a 27-6 spurt to take a 49-22 lead into halftime.

Senior Al Sowers was also in double figures for the Bears as he finished with 11 points. Senior Steve Blum had a solid game with five points, five assists and 10 rebounds for Coast Guard while sophomore Eric Hudson finished with a game-high six assists for the Bears.

Junior Jamaal Hall led City Tech with a game-high 26 points while junior Ryan Phillip registered his fourth straight double-double of the season with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Coast Guard improves to 3-0 for the first time since the 1995-’96 season.
