Women's Basketball - Martinelli Leads Bears to West Coast Win
Melissa Martinelli had 20 points leading the Bears to a season opening win.
WHITTIER, CA.--(11/16/07)--Sophomore Melissa Martinelli had 20 points and freshman Jennifer Tamminen had 16 points in her collegiate debut leading Coast Guard to a 55-50 win over Whittier in the season opener for both teams.
Coast Guard led by three in the closing minutes when Tamminen scored and was fouled. She made the free throw to put the game away for the Bears.
Senior Natalie Moyer had 11 points, nine rebounds and four steals for the Bears.
