Coast Guard and leading scorer Peter Deneen earned a trip to the ECAC Tournament for the fourth time in the last five years.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/5/07)--The Coast Guard Academy men’s soccer team has been selected as the No. 5 seed in the ECAC New England Division III Tournament and will play at fourth-seeded Worcester State (10-7-2) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in a first round game.

The Bears (9-6-1), who lost all six games this season by one goal, earn a trip to the ECAC Tournament for the fourth time in five years as the team also competed in the tournament in 2003, 2004 and 2006. Coast Guard advanced to the semifinals in both 2003 and 2004, but lost in the first round last season.

Coast Guard is led by junior Peter Deneen, who has a team-high nine goals to go with four assists while classmate Thomas Cameron is second on the team with seven goals to go with his team-high five assists.

Top-seeded Norwich (16-3-1) will host eighth-seeded Becker (15-6-0), third-seeded Wentworth (13-5-1) will host sixth-seeded Southern Maine (10-8-1) while seventh-seeded Colby-Sawyer (9-8-2) travels to second-seeded Framingham State (13-4-1).

The semifinals will be played on Saturday, Nov. 10th at the highest remaining seeds while the championship will be held Sunday at the highest remaining seed.

2/7 winner at 3/6 winner, 1 p.m.
