United States Coast Guard Academy - Department of Athletics - Women's Cross Country - Mcguigan Earns All-Conference Honors; Bears Place 7th

NORTHAMPTON, MASS.--(10/27/07)--Senior Sara Mcguigan (19:56.80)placed 11th overall to earn All-conference honors for the first time as the Bears placed 7th at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships hosted by Smith College.

Coast Guard, the defending NEWMAC champions, were 40 points ahead of eighth place Clark and 27 points behind sixth place Springfield.

Also for the Bears, Gwen English was 36th (21:01), Lauren Tumulty was 40th (21:16), Samantha Gordon was 41st (21:20), Bryce Van Cleef was 54th (21:40), and Katie Gilligan was 60th (22:04).

Coast Guard was without #2 runner Tessa Knott, who missed the race due to injury.
