NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/4/07)--Coast Guard won a very close 5-4 contest with rival and host Connecticut College.
Chris Pappe won at #2 singles in straight sets to go 2-0 on the season. Pappe also teamed with Captain Ryan Beck to remain unbeaten this season at #1 doubles 8-4.
The other three points came from James Vuckovic and Tim Ozimek. They teamed for their first win at #2 doubles 8-3. Freshman Vuckovic also won at #3 singles in straight sets to remain unbeaten in college play. The match of the night was #4 singles. After dropping the first set 6-3, Tim Ozimek won the second and third sets 6-4, 6-4 having to finish indoors because of darkness.
