Peter Deneen had three goals and two assists in the first half in the Bears 5-1 win over New York Maritime.
THROGGS NECK, N.Y.--(10/22/07)--Junior Peter Deneen had his first career hat trick while adding two assists figuring in all five Coast Guard goals while classmate Thomas Cameron added two goals and an assist as the Bears exploded for five first half goals in a 5-1 win over New York Maritime snapping the Privateers (12-5) six game win streak.

Cameron scored just over a minute into the game with Deneen assisting and Cameron added his second goal of the game exactly 11 minutes later giving Coast Guard (9-4-1) a 2-0 lead.

Deneen got his first goal just 20 seconds later and he scored two more times in the next 14 minutes as the Bears took a commanding 5-0 lead.

In the 34th minute, Mayer Nelson sent a touch pass to freshman forward Patrick Masango who split the defenders and touched the ball to a streaking Anuar Romero for Maritime’s only goal of the game.

The second half was a defensive battle and both teams managed only 12 shots total. Coast Guard outshot New York Maritime 27-10 in the game.

Sophomore Tim Olah got the win for the Bears in net as he played the first half and made three saves. Freshman Chris Tarbell made four saves in the playing the second half for Coast Guard.

Senior Ben Weber also had two assist for Coast Guard which has won three straight.
