Senior Anne Staley had a career-high 46 assists in the win over Montclair State.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/13/07)--Junior Nicole Gurr had 43 kills and eight blocks while senior Corinne McCormack added 32 kills as Coast Guard swept a pair of matches beating Richard Stockton 3-0 (30-28, 34-32, 31-29) and Montclair State 3-1 (30-22, 29-31, 30-20, 30-21).

In the first match of the day, Coast Guard won the first game 30-28 before getting off to a slow start in game two trailing 16-8 and 29-25 before fighting off four straight game points before winning 34-32. Richard Stockton jumped out to a 12-5 lead in game three, before Coast Guard scored 10 of the next 13 to tie the game 15-15 and won 31-29.

The Bears (16-4) were led by Gurr’s 25 kills and senior Anne Staley’s career-high 46 assists and three aces in the 3-1 win over Montclair State (17-13).

Sophomore Courtney Wolf had 16 kills in the two matches while in the win over Montclair State, sophomore Leanna Minton had 14 digs while freshman Jessica Anderson added 11 digs for the Bears.

Richard Stockton (11-14) beat Montclair State 3-0 (30-24, 31-29, 30-21) in the second match of the afternoon.
