Freshman Chris Tarbell registered his third straight shutout to begin his career.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/19/07)--Junior Thomas Cameron and sophomore Brandon McMillan each scored as host Coast Guard beat rival Connecticut College 2-0 to win the Whale Cup for the third time in the past five years in the battle of the two New London schools.
Cameron scored the only goal that Coast Guard would need in the 15th minute as for the 16th time in the last 17 meetings between the two schools, the game ended in a shutout. Senior Larry Sheetz passed to classmate Ben Weber who feed Cameron for the goal.
McMillan added a header from Cameron with just 28 seconds left as the Bears registered their third straight shutout to improve to 5-1 on the season.
Freshman Chris Tarbell making his third career start, made five saves and recorded his third consecutive shutout as the Bears improved to 3-1-1 in the last five meetings for the Whale Cup.
