Volleyball - Gurr Leads Bears to Sweep of JWU
Nicole Gurr led the Bears with 15 kills and 10 digs in the win.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.--(9/13/07)--Junior All-America Nicole Gurr led the way with 15 kills and 10 digs as Coast Guard beat Johnson & Wales 3-0 (30-10, 30-22, 30-28) in a non-conference match at the Harborside Recreation Center.
Senior Anne Staley notched 19 set assists and two blocks while senior Corinne McCormack chipped in with nine kills and five digs in the victory for the Bears (3-2).
Leading the way for Johnson & Wales (4-5) in the setback was senior Kelle Pfunder who registered 10 kills. JWU senior Audra Vaccari added 25 set assists and notched three digs.
