Freshman Chris Tarbell recorded a shutout in his first collegiate start.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/11/07)--Thomas Cameron and Matt Zangle each scored second half goals and freshman goalkeeper Chris Tarbell, making his first collegiate start, made five saves to record the shutout as Coast Guard beat Rhode Island College 2-0 in a non-conference game.

Tarbell, who got the start in goal because starter Tim Olah was ill, made the most of the opportunity registering the Bears first shutout of the season.

Cameron broke the scoreless tie with 26 minutes left in the match as Peter Deneen assisted.

Zangle, a freshman, scored his first career goal in the 76th minute as the Bears improved to 3-1 on the season.

Coast Guard outshot Rhode Island College 17-13.
