Coast Guard, coming off one of its best seasons as the Bears won their first New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship and placed second at the ECAC Division III Championship, must replace its three top runners from a year ago.

The Bears lost senior Caitlin Quinn, who won the ECAC championship and was an All-conference selection, and senior Aidan VanCleef, an All-conference selection, to graduation and JoEllen Arons, another All-conference selection last season, is out of eligibility and will serve as an assistant coach this season.

Senior Sara McGuigan and sophomore Bryce VanCleef will lead the Bears in 2007. Van Cleef earned All-ECAC honors last season with a seventh place finish was McGuigan was 21st at the ECAC’s.

Seniors Samantha Gordon, Lauren Tumulty and Charlotte Delorey are expected to be in the top eight this season along with junior Gwen English, sophomore Tessa Knott and freshman Colin Fall.
