NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/5/07)--Sophomore Taylor MacDonald scored both goals while junior Nicole Gaudette assisted on both scores as Eastern Connecticut won its season opener beating host Coast Guard 2-0 in a non-conference game.
MacDonald broke the scoreless tie just 2:13 into the second half and added an insurance goal in the 75th minute for the Warriors.
Eastern Connecticut (1-0) outshot Coast Guard 24-5. Trish Ohle had 17 saves for the Bears.
Senior Megan Gloster and sophomore Kim Church each played a half. Gloster had four saves while Church made just one save as they combined for the shutout.
