NEW LONDON, CONN.--(8/31/07)--Ashley Lambert scored with 3:31 left in the second overtime giving Lasell a 1-0 season opening win over Coast Guard, the first career win for head coach Vito LaFrancesca.

Both teams had great chances in the first overtime, but they came up empty before Lambert took a pass from Ann Pasterzyck on the right side and blasted a shot just inside the far post for the victory.

Jamie Remmers made nine saves to record the shutout for the Lasers (1-0) while Trish Ohle had five saves for the Bears (0-1).

Lasell appeared to take a 1-0 lead early on in the second half on a goal by Olivia Tsakiris-Alston, but the Lasers were called for offsides.

Coast Guard outshot Lasell 16-12.
