United States Coast Guard Academy - Department of Athletics - Men's Track

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(5/2/07)--The Coast Guard Academy men’s track and field team won the inaugural New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) sportsmanship award as voted on by the players of each team as the major awards were announced.

Coast Guard, which hosted and placed third at the NEWMAC Championshps, won the award which is given to the team that most closely demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct.

The Academy won six NEWMAC sportsmanship awards this season as the men’s soccer, men’s cross country, men’s basketball, women’s crew and men’s tennis teams also won the award.

The Bears also won five NEWMAC championships, the most in the history of the Academy, as volleyball, women’s cross country, men’s basketball, men’s swimming and diving and women’s crew all won championships.
