Norfolk, VA--(3/25/07)--The Coast Guard Academy sailing team competed in the Aaron Szambecki Team Race Intersectional at Old Dominion University for the first time ever. Eight of the top teams in the country sailed a double round robin, then split into a Championship and Consolation round.
The Bears were led by the team of Skippers Rob Gorman, Ben Komar and Junior Noel Shriner sailing with crews Senior Kyra Chin and Sophomores Jenn Hom and Emily Kehrt. The team finished with a 8-9 record winning the consolation round and one win away from the top four
