New London, CT--(3/25/07)--The Coast Guard Academy Offshore Sailing Team finished second in the first Sloop series of the spring. A total of ten teams sailed and the regatta came down to the last race between Coast Guard 1 and Maine Maritime. The CGA team of skipper Nick Custer and crew Bill Fyfe, Jim Tynan and Brian Komlos (all sophomores) finished one point behind the Maine Maritime team.
The regatta was sailed in the Academy's Fleet of Colgate 26's and ten races were sailed over the two day weekend in light to moderate wind with lots of current
